Disney Memories

After the school year drew to a close, we traveled to Florida to spend a week at Walt Disney World!  Our family had a great time with Nana, Papa and Auntie K as we experienced Disney with the kids.

Traveling with two almost 2 year olds made me nervous.  I wasn't sure what to expect on the plane from the twins.  We made it through the airport  and boarded ok, but then since it was storming we were stuck sitting on the plane at the gate for about 40 minutes waiting for fuel.  Not a good scenario for me.  The little girls were getting antsy by the time we pulled away from the gate.  Once we took off, it get better and the 2.5 hours passed much more quickly than I thought it would.  After completing our travels of planes, trains, and automobiles (and a bus) we arrived at the resort excited to begin our vacation!

The first 2 days were spent at the Magic Kingdom which was the kids favorite park!  Over the week we hit all four parks, but Magic Kingdom was where the kids really wanted to be (and the parents, since that is where the girls were happiest.)

E had the trip of a lifetime.  She was able to meet many of the princesses she has come to know through the Disney movies, and many of the other characters too!  She was so proud to have her autograph book and pen to give to each character she met.  She also was able to ride in Cinderella's carriage, got a rose at the end of the Beauty and the Beast show at Hollywood Studios, and climbed to the top of the Wilderness Lodge on our last full day to help raise the flags.  She was also able to ride her favorite rides, Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain, several times.  I don't think I have seen a child so excited and animated in line before.  What a lucky girl!!!

M and J also had a fun time on the trip.  At first, they were not too thrilled with the characters up close, but they were so excited to see them from a distance.  By the end of the trip they were warming up to being near the characters.  They each also had a favorite ride.  M loved the carousel while J loved Dumbo (or any other ride of the same type).  They also both enjoyed the Winnie the Pooh ride and play area and the Briar Patch play area.  Its a Small World was also a hit the younger crowd!  During our trip they also decided they were no longer fans of their stroller.  Carrying 2 kids down Main Street in 100 degrees is tiring!  We did manage to bribe them back into the stroller a few times :)

While there were a few meltdowns (from both little and big people), we truly had a wonderful and memorable vacation.  We are excited to do it again in a few years.  After all, it is the happiest place on earth.
